The Union of Students in Ireland support pharmacy students in their fight to fair treatment.
Pharmacy students on placement are now denied the right to payment for their time on placement (between 4 and 8 months at a time) by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) who regulate the MPharm programme.
Pharmacy students are now facing extortionate fees in their 5th year, and while on placement they are now being put under serious financial pressure, working full-time unpaid, often away from home and their accommodation.
The PSI must overturn the ban on pay.
