Event: Launch of National Student Alcohol Awareness Roadshow ‘Mental Drinking’ The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) will today [on Monday] launch a new phase of its alcohol awareness campaign, ‘mentaldrinking.ie’. The information initiative, in conjunction with Alcohol Action Ireland, which is funded by the Health Service Executive, aims to explain clearly the link between binge drinking and mental ill-health, and to encourage students, particularly those who may be older brothers and sisters, to set a good role model for the younger generations coming up behind them. The Union of Students in Ireland is Urging Students to Stay away from the 2CB Drug

  The Union of Students in Ireland is urging young people to stay away from the ‘designer drug’ 2CB after six people were hospitalised following its consumption at a house party in Cork this morning. According to the 2015 National Student Drug Survey, 82% of students have at some point used illegal drugs. 94% of the 2,701 people surveyed who said they have used drugs in their lifetime have shared drugs with another person. mentaldrinking.ie campaign highlights impact of alcohol on mental health

The Union of Students of Ireland (USI) has today (Wednesday) launched a new campaign that highlights the mental health impact of harmful drinking on young people. The USI’s new resource on alcohol and mental health, mentaldrinking.ie, contains easy-to-understand information on the risks that alcohol consumption, particularly binge drinking, pose to young people, and the impact this can have on their mental health and wellbeing.
