Student representatives gather in Dublin to lobby TDs ahead of Budget 2023

The accommodation crisis and soaring cost-of-living are among the key issues being raised by the Union of Students in Ireland at today’s (Monday) pre-budget submission lobbying day in Buswells Hotel, Dublin. USI representatives have been joined by Students’ Union officers from across Ireland to lobby the TDs, including Government ministers, who are attending the event. ‘A Living Crisis, A Student Crisis,’ USI’s costed pre-budget submission sets out the significant and increasing financial barriers facing students and potential students in Ireland. Why Research Matters video competition 2022

The Union of Students in Ireland is delighted to run the Why Research Matters video competition 2022 in cooperation with the Irish Research Council. This competition aims to showcase the varied and high-quality work being undertaken by postgraduate researchers across the island. We ask the creative minds of the island’s postgraduate research community to produce a short video presentation about their research, and why it matters. Submissions are open from August 20th to September 10th, with winners to be announced by September 30th.
