His Excellency Jeremiah Ndou,

Embassy of South Africa in Dublin,

Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2.
Ireland
Dear Mr Ambassador,
On behalf of the National Council of the Union of Students in Ireland, I would like to extend my condolences to the Mandela family and the people of South Africa, on the passing of the great Nelson Mandela.
We also wish to express our gratitude for the inspirational and immeasurable work Mr. Mandela has done in promoting peace, human rights and social justice.
USI has a long history of campaigning with the Irish Anti-Apartheid Movement, and engaged heavily with campaigns to release Mr. Mandela from prison during the 1980’s.
In the future, as we continue our battle for equity of access to Education and the elimination of racism and social exclusion, I am sure that future student leaders will continue to be inspired by the words and deeds of the legendary Madiba.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
Yours sincerely,
Joe O’Connor
President
Union of Students in Ireland
