Third level students across Ireland are encouraged to participate in the world’s first LGBTI+ Youth Strategy being conducted by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs under the direction of Minister Katherine Zappone and chaired independently by journalist Una Mullally. The USI has been an active advocate for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender rights across many campaigns since the 1970’s, including decriminalisation in 1993.
