USI to distribute 45,000 ‘SHAG Packs’ & Urges Students to Practice Safer Sex “Whoever you like, love safer sex”, that’s the slogan for USI’s Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance (SHAG) campaign. The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) launches its annual sexual health campaign this week in collaboration with Durex, MSD and Think Contraception. Support and Funding for Part-Time and Further Education Students

For the Government to commit to part-time and further education students receiving the same supports that would be available to full-time students in similar circumstances and make a hardship fund available for students who are studying part-time and in further education. A number of support funds, including the Fund for Student with Disabilities, the Student Assistance Fund (SAF) and the Maintenance Grant are only available for students studying on a full-time basis in recognised Higher Education Institution. President Higgins to meet USI and Students’ Union representatives

President Michael D. Higgins is to meet with representatives from the Union of Students in Ireland and its member Students’ Unions tomorrow in Áras an Uachtaráin at 4.30pm. The meeting is intended to give student representatives a chance to discuss the President’s Being Young and Irish 2012 initiative. The Being Young and Irish 2012 initiative seeks to advance the national discourse on inclusion by harnessing the power of young people, enabling them to participate and be more involved.
