USI launch national survey on students’ experiences of violence

The survey, which will take 10-15 minutes to complete, has sections which ask about experiences relating to the following: unwanted obsessive behaviour and stalking; harassment; educational support; physical mistreatment and violence; and unwanted sexual experiences. USI responds to statement by National Women’s Council of Ireland on the horrific death of Geila Ibram

[…]USI are appalled by the joint statement released by the National Women’s Council of Ireland with Ruhama and the UCD Sexual Exploitation Research Programme in relation to Geila’s death. USI is committed to raising awareness of violence against women at a national level. Students Pass Motion to Support Rent Strikes at USI National Council

[…]the success of Rent Strikes in the UK and emerging Rent Strike groups in Ireland, the national student movement have voted unanimously to support these campaigns focused on campus owned student accommodation in Ireland.
